The Paper Season 2 is out now as The Office follow-up returns with all 10 episodes
The Paper Season 2 arrives on Sky and NOW with all 10 episodes. Here is where to watch The Office follow-up, who returns and what happens next.
The Paper Season 2 arrives in the UK today, bringing viewers back inside the chaotic Toledo Truth Teller newsroom and giving fans of The Office another ten episodes to binge.
The comedy returns on 10 September on Sky and NOW, with all episodes of the second season being made available at launch. Unlike shows that stretch their return across several weeks, UK viewers can therefore jump straight into the entire new season.
The Paper takes place within the same television world as The Office US, with the documentary crew that once followed the employees of Dunder Mifflin discovering a very different workplace to investigate.
Their new subject is the Toledo Truth Teller, a struggling historic newspaper in Ohio where an enthusiastic editor is attempting to bring the publication back to life. Oscar also provides the most obvious connection to The Office, returning as the character audiences first met during the Scranton years.
Season 2 begins after the newspaper’s success at the Ohio Journalism Awards, but that victory does not suddenly make life inside the newsroom straightforward.
Ned becomes determined to find a major journalistic crusade and turns his attention towards a local private club, potentially putting the newspaper itself at risk. His relationship with Mare also moves forward after the attraction established previously, while Esmeralda continues trying to work out exactly where she fits into the increasingly ambitious team.
Domhnall returns alongside Sabrina, Chelsea, Melvin, Gbemisola, Tim, Ramona, Eric, Duane, Alex and Oscar. New guest stars appearing during Season 2 include Jon, Andy, Lisa, Matt, Toks and Phil, adding several established comedy names to the newsroom.
The Office connection remains one of the biggest reasons for curious viewers to give The Paper a chance, but the series has increasingly built its own collection of characters and workplace problems rather than simply attempting to recreate Dunder Mifflin.
Greg and Michael created the series, while Ricky and Stephen are among its executive producers. That gives The Paper some significant creative links to The Office while allowing the story to explore a completely different industry and a newsroom desperately trying to survive in the modern world.
