Sheridan Smith’s New ITV Crime Thriller Two Birds Reveals First Look as Jacki Weaver Joins Cast
Jacki Weaver joins Sheridan Smith in ITV crime thriller Two Birds as dramatic first-look images reveal the mystery heading to Western Australia.
ITV has unveiled the first look at new mystery crime thriller Two Birds, with Academy Award nominee Jacki Weaver joining Sheridan Smith and Stephen Peacocke in a story of murder, deception and a powerful local family determined to protect its secrets.

Filmed on location in Perth and Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, the six-part series follows Constable Izzie Cornell, played by Sheridan, as she arrives in the remote mining town of Dugdale from the UK hoping to make a fresh start.
That plan quickly falls apart after a disastrous misstep drags her into a murder investigation and an increasingly dangerous web of guilt and deception.

The case ultimately puts Izzie on a collision course with Mrs Baxter, the formidable matriarch of a notorious local crime family.
Jacki will take on the role after replacing previously announced star Judy Davis, who left the production because of scheduling conflicts.

The newly released images offer the first glimpse of the Australian setting and the characters at the centre of the investigation, including Izzie in uniform and scenes suggesting the case will take her well beyond a conventional police inquiry.

Jacki is joined by Colin Friels, while the wider cast includes Fiona Button, Eva Morgan, Harry Greenwood, Nic Cassim, Victoria Fowler, Lila McGuire, Kit Jeakings-Bull, Matthew Pearce, Sarah Roberts and Matt Day. Stephen Peacocke also stars in the series alongside Sheridan.
ITV has not yet confirmed a transmission date, but the series is being lined up for ITV and STV, with streaming available through ITVX and STV Player.
With an Oscar-nominated star joining an already strong cast and a murder mystery unfolding against a remote Australian backdrop, Two Birds is shaping up to be one of ITV’s more intriguing new crime dramas.
Two Birds will air on ITV and STV in the UK and stream on ITVX and STV Player. A release date is still to be announced.
