RuPaul and Drag Race stars take over Netflix in wild disaster comedy Stop! That! Train!

RuPaul is joining some of the biggest names from RuPaul’s Drag Race for the gloriously ridiculous disaster comedy Stop! That! Train!, which is making its move to streaming following its cinema release.

Ginger Minj and Jujubee lead the English-language film as best friends Tess and DeeDee, two train hostesses who land jobs aboard the glamorous Glamazonian Express.

Their dream journey quickly goes spectacularly wrong when a catastrophic storm threatens the high-speed train, forcing the pair to work with their decidedly less welcoming first-class colleagues to prevent disaster.

And then there is RuPaul. The Drag Race host plays US President Judy Gagwell, who becomes caught up in the increasingly outrageous attempt to save the train and everyone aboard it.

Stop! That! Train! has a huge Drag Race cast

RuPaul is far from the only familiar face involved. Brooke Lynn Hytes, Symone, Latrice Royale, Monét X Change and Marcia Marcia Marcia are among the Drag Race stars appearing alongside Ginger and Jujubee.

The wider cast brings some particularly recognisable names into the madness too, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar, Modern Family favourite Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Rachel Bloom, Joel McHale and Missi Pyle.

Behind the camera is Adam Shankman, director of Hairspray, while the producers of RuPaul’s Drag Race are also involved.

The film takes its inspiration from classic disaster spoofs including Airplane! and The Naked Gun, turning the familiar runaway-disaster formula into a deliberately camp comedy packed with drag performers, celebrity cameos and increasingly absurd situations.

When can you watch Stop! That! Train! in the UK?

Stop! That! Train! originally reached UK cinemas in August and is now beginning its move to streaming.

Netflix has scheduled the movie's streaming arrival for September 20 in supported territories, while current UK listings point to September 21 for its British streaming availability.

That gives viewers who missed its cinema run another chance to see Ginger Minj, Jujubee and a formidable collection of Drag Race favourites attempting to survive what may be one of the most spectacularly camp train journeys ever put on screen.
