Guy Ritchie fans have another big action film to watch at home, with In The Grey now available through Prime Video in the UK and bringing together Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal, Eiza González and Rosamund Pike.

The action thriller arrived on Prime Video on 9 September following its cinema release earlier this year, and the combination of its director, huge cast and billion-dollar heist story makes this an obvious pick for anyone enjoying the slick criminal world of The Gentlemen.

At the centre of In The Grey is a covert team of elite operatives who specialise in jobs most people would consider impossible. When a ruthless despot steals a billion-dollar fortune, they are sent in to take it back, turning an already dangerous heist into a much bigger fight involving strategy, deception and survival.

Henry and Jake lead the operation alongside Eiza, while Rosamund, Kristofer Hivju, Fisher Stevens and Carlos Bardem are also part of the cast.

The setup feels particularly suited to Guy’s style. This is not a small-scale crime story built around detectives slowly piecing together clues. In The Grey moves into the world of professional operators, huge amounts of stolen money, heavily armed enemies and people whose entire careers have been built around working outside the normal rules.

The mission becomes even more complicated when the team is forced to deal with more than simply recovering the money. What begins as an ambitious operation starts escalating into something much harder to control, leaving the group trying to stay ahead of an enemy who has no intention of giving up a billion dollars quietly.

For viewers coming directly from The Gentlemen Season 2, there is an obvious reason to give it a try. The setting and characters are completely different, but the combination of crime, expensive locations, dangerous people, sharp action and morally flexible characters sits firmly within the kind of entertainment Guy has become known for.

It also gives Henry and Jake another opportunity to move firmly into action territory. Eiza joins them at the centre of the operation, while Rosamund adds another major British name to an already unusually strong ensemble.

At around one hour and 36 minutes, In The Grey is also considerably easier to jump into than another eight or ten-part series. It is built as a standalone action thriller, making it a strong weekend option for anyone wanting something fast, stylish and packed with recognisable faces.

The film currently carries a 6.3 rating on IMDb from more than 40,000 ratings, showing that a substantial audience has already found it following its cinema run. Its arrival on Prime Video now gives the film another opportunity to reach viewers who missed it on the big screen.
