RFDS lands major Logie recognition with double Best Lead Actor nomination

RFDS has secured three nominations at the 2026 TV Week Logie Awards, with the Seven Network drama recognised both as a programme and for two of its leading performances.

The series is nominated for Best Drama Program, placing it alongside Dear Life, Heartbreak High, Mystery Road: Origin, The Twelve: Cape Rock Killer and Watching You. It is another strong showing for the Australian medical drama, which follows the doctors, nurses and pilots working across some of the country’s most remote communities.

Rob Collins and Stephen Peacocke have both been nominated for the Silver Logie for Best Lead Actor in a Drama. Rob plays Dr Wayne Yates, while Stephen has been a central part of RFDS as flight nurse Pete Emerson.

The two RFDS stars will compete against Hunter Page Lochard for Reckless, Jacob Elordi for The Narrow Road to the Deep North, Mark Coles Smith for Mystery Road: Origin and Sam Neill for The Twelve: Cape Rock Killer.

Having two actors from the same series competing in the Lead Actor category is a particularly impressive result for RFDS and gives the drama two opportunities for individual recognition alongside its Best Drama Program nomination.

RFDS has now reached three seasons in Australia and remains one of Seven’s major drama productions. Its combination of medical emergencies, remote Australian locations and the personal lives of the RFDS team has also helped the series find an audience well beyond Australia.

With three nominations, including two actors competing directly against one another, RFDS will be one of the dramas we will be keeping a particularly close eye on when the Logie Awards take place.
