National Television Awards 2026 winners: Emmerdale, Jeff Hordley and Vicky McClure among NTA winners
The National Television Awards 2026 winners have been revealed, with Emmerdale, Jeff Hordley, Vicky McClure, Sir David Attenborough and This Morning among the big winners.
The National Television Awards returned to London’s O2 Arena on Tuesday 8 September, bringing together some of the biggest names and programmes on British television. Hosted by Joel Dommett, the 2026 ceremony saw awards handed out across soaps, drama, entertainment, reality television, comedy and daytime.
Emmerdale enjoyed one of the biggest nights of the ceremony after winning Serial Drama ahead of Casualty, Coronation Street, EastEnders and Hollyoaks. The ITV soap also celebrated an individual victory for Jeff Hordley, who won Serial Drama Performance for playing Cain Dingle.
Hordley faced competition from EastEnders stars Aaron Thiara and Paul Bradley, alongside Coronation Street’s Gareth Pierce and Sue Devaney. It was Hordley’s first National Television Award win, having played Cain since 2000, apart from a break between 2006 and 2009.
Vicky McClure was another major winner, taking Drama Performance for her portrayal of Lana Washington in Trigger Point. She was nominated alongside Ella Bruccoleri for The Other Bennet Sister, Judy Parfitt for Call the Midwife, Ruth Jones for Run Away and Sheridan Smith for I Fought The Law.
There were plenty of other familiar favourites celebrating during the night. Sir David Attenborough won TV Presenter, This Morning took the Daytime award and Strictly Come Dancing was named the winner of Talent Show.
Call the Midwife won Returning Drama, while I Fought The Law was named New Drama. The Celebrity Traitors took Reality Competition, Clarkson’s Farm won Reality Docuseries and Mrs Brown’s Boys secured the Comedy award.
Gogglebox won Factual Entertainment, The 1% Club took Quiz Show and Our Girls: The Southport Families won Authored Documentary. Michael McIntyre’s Big Show received the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award, while Alan Carr was named the recipient of the Special Recognition Award.
