Meet ChaeA, the AI Singer Releasing a South Korea National Team Song
Meet ChaeA, the South Korean AI singer releasing a national team support song for the 2026 Asian Games.
South Korea's latest virtual music star is preparing to step into the sporting world, with AI singer ChaeA releasing a new song supporting the country's national team at the 2026 Asian Games.
ChaeA will release We Go Until the End on September 23 as South Korean athletes prepare for the Games. The release is the latest move from Sound Republic, which is developing ChaeA as both an AI singer and an interactive virtual personality capable of building her own relationship with fans.
She is already more than a generated face attached to AI music. ChaeA has collaborated with established musicians, including a June remake recorded with singer Jeon Young-rok, while another collaboration with Lee Jin-gwan followed in August.
ChaeA can talk back to her fans
One of the more unusual parts of ChaeA's development is what happens away from the music. She shares images and short videos apparently visiting real South Korean locations, while a generative AI system trained around her personality and way of speaking allows ChaeA to respond directly to fan comments.
Sound Republic now wants to take that virtual identity considerably further. On September 29, ChaeA is due to become a promotional ambassador for a South Korean investment company, with future plans including advertising and corporate music.
The company is also developing other virtual personalities, including Jiwung, who is designed around being a cat owner, and Nagi, whose character has a taste for J-pop.
For ChaeA, however, the immediate challenge is much bigger than another virtual influencer campaign. Her next song is being attached to real athletes representing South Korea on an international stage, giving an AI singer an unusual place in the build-up to one of Asia's biggest sporting events.
