One of Australia’s most loved television dramas is riding back onto screens. McLeod’s Daughters has officially been revived, with a new series set to revisit the world of Drovers Run more than 17 years after the emotional original finale.
The surprise announcement came 25 years after viewers first met estranged sisters Tess and Claire McLeod. Their story grew into an international hit packed with romance, tragedy, family feuds and unforgettable departures across eight seasons and 224 episodes.
What will the new McLeod’s Daughters be about?
The new McLeod’s Daughters will be a Stan Original produced by Werner Film Productions. It will return to the world created by Posie Graeme-Evans while introducing the women facing life, work and relationships on the land today.
Few story details have been revealed, but the official description promises that the landscape and fighting spirit at the heart of the original series will remain. The new chapter will explore love, family and connection in a very different world from the one Tess and Claire entered in 2001.
The original drama began when city-raised Tess returned to Drovers Run intending to sell her share of the financially troubled property. Instead, she reunited with Claire and helped build a community of women whose lives kept viewers hooked for nearly a decade.

No cast members have officially been confirmed for the revival yet. The original ensemble included Bridie Carter, Lisa Chappell, Simmone Jade Mackinnon, Michala Banas, Sonia Todd, Aaron Jeffery, Myles Pollard and Brett Tucker.
