Lioness Season 3 Confirms Cruz and Josie Are Together

Lioness Season 3 has confirmed that Cruz Manuelos and Josie Carrillo are now in a relationship, continuing the LGBTQ+ storyline that developed between the pair during the second season.

Laysla De Oliveira is back as Cruz alongside Genesis Rodriguez as Josie, with the new episodes revealing that their relationship has progressed significantly since viewers last saw them together. The couple are now living together, giving audiences their first proper look at Cruz enjoying a settled relationship away from the dangerous missions that have dominated much of her story.

Cruz arrives home to Josie during one of the early episodes of the new season, quickly establishing that the pair have built a life together. Their reunion also shows a noticeably more relaxed side of Cruz, with humour and affection becoming part of a relationship that began under very different circumstances.

Cruz and Josie’s relationship continues in Season 3

Josie was introduced during Season 2 as an experienced helicopter pilot brought into the Lioness programme. Cruz was assigned to work alongside her and their initially professional relationship gradually became more personal.

For Cruz, the relationship follows her feelings for Aaliyah Amrohi during the first season. That romance developed while Cruz was undercover and unable to be completely truthful about who she was or why she had entered Aaliyah’s life.

Her relationship with Josie is different because there is no undercover identity separating them. Both women understand the dangerous world they are part of and the experiences that come with working within the Lioness programme.

Laysla has described Josie as Cruz’s first grown up love and has spoken positively about getting the opportunity to show a more comfortable and affectionate side of her character. She has also confirmed that Cruz and Josie are living together during Season 3.

The actress has said their relationship allows viewers to see more humour, banter and vulnerability from Cruz, something that has rarely been possible during the character’s previous storylines.

Laysla and Genesis both return as part of the Season 3 cast, alongside Zoe Saldaña as Joe, Nicole Kidman as Kaitlyn, Morgan Freeman as Edwin Mullins, Michael Kelly as Byron Westfield and Jill Wagner as Bobby.

The new season continues the espionage story as hidden networks, foreign operatives and personal betrayals create another dangerous mission for Joe and her team.

Cruz remains heavily involved in that world, but Season 3 now gives viewers the opportunity to see what her life looks like when she returns home from it. Josie is part of both sides of that life, having experienced the Lioness programme herself.

Where can UK viewers watch Lioness Season 3?

Lioness Season 3 premiered on Paramount+ in the UK on 2 August 2026 and contains eight episodes, with new episodes released weekly on Sundays.

The first two seasons are also available to stream on Paramount+, allowing viewers to follow Cruz’s story from her arrival in the programme through to the development of her relationship with Josie.
