LGBTQ+ Indigenous artist unveils powerful ‘Rainbow Mob’ Pride kit

Western Bulldogs have unveiled a striking new Pride kit celebrating people who belong to both First Nations and LGBTQ+ communities.

The AFLW club's 2026 guernsey was created by lifelong Bulldogs supporter Chelsea Adamson, a proud Wotjobaluk and LGBTQIA+ woman from Wergaia country.

Her design is inspired by Rainbow Mob, bringing traditional Aboriginal artwork together with Pride colours.

‘A minority within a minority’

Adamson said Rainbow Mob can often be overlooked and wanted the design to bring her two worlds together on a major sporting platform.

She described people living at that intersection as a “minority within a minority”, while explaining that coming out and living openly are not necessarily straightforward journeys.

That idea runs throughout the shirt. The Bulldogs' familiar hoops have been deliberately reworked into uneven patterns to represent different coming-out journeys, while symbols representing people, women, men and meeting places are incorporated into the artwork.

The club will wear the guernsey during AFLW Pride Round, beginning with Friday night's marquee match against Essendon at Mission Whitten Oval.
