LEGO ONE PIECE reunites the Netflix cast for a two-part pirate adventure
LEGO ONE PIECE arrives on Netflix with the live-action cast returning, Usopp telling the story and two seasons of pirate adventures rebuilt.
The Straw Hat pirates are getting a rather different makeover in LEGO ONE PIECE, a two-part animated special arriving on Netflix on 29 September. The actors behind the live-action crew return to voice their characters, but this time their adventures unfold in a world built from bricks.
For anyone unfamiliar with ONE PIECE, the story follows Monkey D. Luffy and his pirate crew as he searches for a legendary treasure and pursues his ambition to become King of the Pirates. It began as a Japanese manga, meaning a comic series, created by Eiichiro Oda.
The LEGO special revisits events from the first two seasons of Netflix’s live-action adaptation. It is not the next season of that series, so viewers should expect familiar adventures told differently rather than the story continuing beyond season two.

There is a particular reason those adventures might sound a little different this time. Usopp, the crew’s enthusiastic storyteller, is recounting them to Tony Tony Chopper, their reindeer-like companion, putting his own perspective at the centre.
Jacob Romero returns as Usopp, alongside Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Zoro and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Mikaela Hoover also returns as Chopper, keeping the familiar voices together across both episodes.
The animated format gives the special room to play with the original adventures through LEGO comedy and action. Its premise also offers newer viewers an introduction to the crew, without presenting the special as a replacement for the fuller live-action story.
Tom Hyndman is the writer and showrunner, overseeing the production’s creative direction, while Chelsea Ker directs both episodes. The project brings together the LEGO Group, Japanese publisher Shueisha and Canadian animation studio Atomic Cartoons.
There are several separate ONE PIECE projects in development, which makes the distinction useful. The live-action third season is titled ONE PIECE The Battle of Alabasta and is planned for 2027, while THE ONE PIECE is a separate animated adaptation.
For now, the September release is the shorter LEGO adventure. It brings the existing cast back together while letting Usopp take charge of how their exploits are remembered.
