Last King of the Cross: Tim Roth Crime Thriller Comes to ITVX

Tim Roth and Lincoln Younes are heading to ITVX with a gripping Australian crime thriller packed with ruthless gangsters, dangerous rivalries and a battle for control of Sydney’s notorious Kings Cross.

Fans of hard-hitting crime dramas have a new series to add to their watchlist, as Last King of the Cross arrives on ITVX on November 1, with both seasons available to stream for free.

Starring Reservoir Dogs and Tin Star actor Tim Roth alongside Lincoln Younes, the series plunges viewers into a brutal criminal underworld where ambition, family loyalty and the pursuit of power collide. Inspired by the best-selling autobiography of real-life nightclub mogul John Ibrahim, the drama charts the extraordinary rise of a man determined to build an empire in one of Sydney’s most notorious neighbourhoods.

Younes takes centre stage as John Ibrahim, a Lebanese immigrant who rises from poverty to become a powerful figure in Sydney’s nightlife scene. But his journey to the top is anything but straightforward, as rival gangs, corrupt police officers and established criminal powers threaten everything he has worked to achieve.

Roth plays Ezra Shipman, the reigning king of Kings Cross, whose position faces a serious challenge as John and his older brother Sam begin making their mark on the criminal landscape. Played by Claude Jabbour, Sam brings muscle and intimidation to their partnership, while John relies on his intelligence and business instincts to build their growing empire.

Together, the brothers become a force to be reckoned with, but their success comes at a dangerous time. As cocaine floods Sydney and criminal loyalties begin to shift, the balance of power starts to crumble, leaving Kings Cross open to a violent struggle for supremacy.

For the first time in 30 years, control of the area is up for grabs. The Ibrahim brothers must contend with Shipman, Vietnamese gangs, outlaw motorcycle clubs and a corrupt police force, creating a volatile fight in which alliances can prove just as dangerous as enemies.

The series made its debut on Paramount+ on February 17, 2023, quickly becoming the streaming platform’s most-watched Australian series. Its second season arrived on August 30, 2024, continuing the story of ambition, criminal enterprise and the fight to dominate Kings Cross.
