Kylie Jenner is taking on her first major television acting role, and she won't exactly be getting a happy ending.

The reality star and beauty entrepreneur is set to play a bride-to-be who is murdered during her own bachelorette weekend in a new Hulu thriller, leaving her closest friends under suspicion.

Everyone at the party becomes a suspect

Currently titled Bachelorette Weekend, the series follows a tight-knit group of women whose celebration takes a horrifying turn when Jenner's character is discovered dead in a swimming pool.

Although the murder sits at the centre of the mystery, Jenner's character is expected to remain important throughout the series as viewers piece together what happened before her death. Her role has been described as the story's “North Star”, with the events leading up to the killing gradually revealing the secrets surrounding the group.

Jenner will also executive produce alongside sister Kim Kardashian, giving the pair a major scripted project together away from their long-running reality television careers.

The series is being developed from an unpublished novel by Flora Collins, with Panic and Before I Fall author Lauren Oliver adapting the story for television.

It represents a significant change of direction for Jenner. While she has previously appeared as herself on television and recently had a small role in Charli XCX's The Moment, Bachelorette Weekend would be her first substantial part in a scripted television series.

Further casting has not yet been announced, meaning the identities of the friends who find themselves caught inside the murder mystery remain under wraps.

Hulu has yet to confirm a premiere date, while a UK broadcaster or streaming home has also not been announced.
