JADE lands huge Blue Planet III song with Hans Zimmer

JADE has landed one of her biggest projects since Little Mix, joining forces with Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer for the return of Blue Planet.

The singer has recorded Into The Deep (Seas Cry) for Blue Planet III, the new Sir David Attenborough series exploring the world's oceans.

The song received its first play on BBC Radio 1 before being released globally alongside the programme's extended trailer.

JADE says she cried over Blue Planet offer

For JADE, this wasn't simply another soundtrack job. She has described Blue Planet as a favourite throughout both her childhood and adult life, while calling Attenborough one of her heroes.

Speaking about receiving the offer, she admitted the opportunity brought her to tears and described working with Zimmer as one of the best things she has ever done.

The track was created with Zimmer and Thom Lukas of Bleeding Fingers Music, with JADE, Pablo Bowman and Fin Dow-Smith contributing lyrics.

It also gives viewers their first musical taste of the new series. Zimmer and Bleeding Fingers Music are providing Blue Planet III's wider score, continuing Zimmer's involvement with the franchise after Blue Planet II.

David Attenborough returns at 100

Attenborough will once again narrate, returning to the oceans 25 years after the original The Blue Planet. Now in his centennial year, he said the new programmes reveal underwater life that is even more surprising and sophisticated than previously understood.

The six-part series will travel from tropical seas and polar waters to the open ocean and deep sea, using new filming technology to reveal how marine life is adapting to a changing planet.

Into The Deep (Seas Cry) is available to stream now. Blue Planet III arrives on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn, although the BBC has not yet announced an exact transmission date.
