Icebreaker is heading somewhere a little different in its next episode, with creator Gen confirming that the Polaris crew will temporarily leave life at sea behind for a stop on an island.
The new episode is due to be released tomorrow, 20 August, and SoapLandTV already has a first look at the change of scenery.
During our recent exclusive interview with the Icebreaker creator, Gen gave SoapLandTV readers an early tease of what was coming.
“I can share one small exclusive: in the upcoming episode, the Polaris crew will make a stop on an island.
“I won’t say too much about what happens there, but it will give us a chance to see the characters outside the usual rhythm of life on the ship and create a slightly different dynamic for the episode.”
That change of environment should give viewers a fresh look at Ana, Noémie and the rest of the Polaris crew away from the setting that has defined much of the series so far. Gen is understandably keeping exactly what happens on the island under wraps, leaving plenty still to discover when the episode arrives.
Icebreaker has continued to build an enthusiastic global audience around its slow-burn WLW story, and the latest episode looks set to take the characters into new territory while continuing the story developing aboard Polaris.
