How Faceless Design Collective blends AI with human creativity

Faceless Design Collective is built around a creative process that brings together human ideas, traditional music production and newer AI-assisted tools, giving creator Netty Neal more ways to shape the sound, mood and identity of each track.

Speaking exclusively to SoapLandTV, Netty explained that her workflow can involve Pro Tools, Noiseworks and Suno, with different tools used at different stages as the music develops. Her own writing, vocal recordings and creative direction remain central, while technology helps her experiment with sound and push those original ideas further.

Rather than fitting into one fixed method, FDC’s production process reflects the freedom behind the project itself. Netty can move between writing, recording, arranging and refining, using whichever tools best support the emotion and atmosphere she wants the finished track to carry.

That flexibility is one of the most exciting parts of AI-assisted music production. New technology can give independent creators more space to experiment, test ideas and develop ambitious sounds without losing the personal input that inspired the track in the first place.

Netty’s studio also reflects that combination of approaches. Alongside computer-based production equipment are guitars, keyboards, drums and other instruments, creating a workspace where traditional and digital methods can sit comfortably together.

For FDC, the technology is not there simply because it is new. It becomes part of a wider creative toolkit, used to help build everything from more atmospheric and emotional tracks to stronger electronic and dance-focused releases.

That approach allows Netty to explore sound in a particularly fluid way. An idea can begin with words, a vocal line or a specific emotion before developing through production into something much bigger, with each stage adding another layer to the finished piece.

It also reflects how music production continues to evolve. Electronic artists have always worked with changing technology, from synthesisers and samplers to digital audio workstations and vocal processing, and AI-assisted tools now sit alongside those established methods as another option for creators willing to experiment.

Faceless Design Collective embraces that evolution rather than treating it as something separate from creativity. The result is a project where new technology supports storytelling, atmosphere and emotion, while Netty remains at the centre of the creative decisions shaping the music.

That balance is becoming an important part of FDC’s identity. The project is not defined by one piece of software or one production method, but by how different tools are brought together to create something distinctive.

As FDC continues to grow, that willingness to combine human creativity with emerging technology gives Netty plenty of room to keep exploring new sounds, ideas and ways of telling stories through music.
