Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams plays two mysterious roles in new thriller Yaga

Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams is preparing for a very different kind of television role in Yaga, a supernatural mystery thriller premiering on 23 October 2026. The Canadian actor plays two characters in the eight-part series, which also stars Carrie-Anne Moss, Noah Reid and Clark Backo.

In new interviews published on 20 October, the cast revealed further details about the darkly humorous adaptation of the Baba Yaga legend, including a significant scene between Williams and The Matrix star Moss.

Who does Hudson Williams play in Yaga?

Williams takes on the roles of Henry Park, the heir to a powerful fishing business who mysteriously disappears, and Logan, Henry's socially awkward housemate.

The disappearance brings private investigator Rapp, played by Noah Reid, to the fictional coastal town of Whittock. His investigation leads him into conflict with local detective Carson, played by Clark Backo, and university professor Katherine, portrayed by Carrie-Anne Moss.

As the investigation unfolds, ancient folklore, hidden relationships and mysterious events become increasingly important to the story.

What did Carrie-Anne Moss say about Hudson Williams?

Speaking to People ahead of the premiere, Moss praised Williams and teased a significant scene they share in the series.

The actress described her younger co-star as talented and spoke positively about their time working together. However, she stopped short of revealing exactly what happens between their characters, leaving viewers to discover the scene when Yaga premieres.

Moss also serves as an executive producer on the series, which was created by Canadian playwright Kat Sandler.

Is Yaga similar to Heated Rivalry?

Although both productions feature Williams, Yaga offers a very different kind of storytelling from Heated Rivalry.

Rather than a sports romance, the new series combines detective fiction, supernatural mythology, dark comedy and psychological intrigue. It is based on Sandler's 2019 stage play and reimagines the Slavic legend of Baba Yaga in a contemporary setting.

For viewers who discovered Williams through Heated Rivalry, the double role offers another opportunity to see his range as an actor.

When and where can you watch Yaga?

Yaga premieres on Friday 23 October 2026, with two episodes arriving on AMC+ in the United States. New episodes will follow weekly, with a two-episode finale scheduled for 27 November.

The series is also launching on Crave in Canada and BINGE in Australia. A confirmed UK streaming release has not yet been established.
