Hacks star Mark Indelicato marries David Watson as Jean Smart officiates wedding

Hacks star Mark Indelicato has married his partner David Watson, with co-star Jean Smart officiating at their wedding. The couple tied the knot on 10 October in an outdoor ceremony attended by friends and colleagues, including several familiar faces from the HBO comedy.

Smart, who plays veteran comedian Deborah Vance in Hacks, led the couple through their vows before pronouncing them husband and husband. Footage shared by members of the cast showed the ceremony and the newlyweds celebrating their marriage, turning the occasion into a reunion for the people behind the series.

Jean Smart officiates the ceremony

Videos shared by Hacks co-stars Johnny Sibilly and Hannah Einbinder captured Smart taking on the role of officiant. The ceremony included the traditional declaration of intent, with the actor asking Indelicato and Watson to confirm their commitment before pronouncing them married.

The wedding brought together several members of the show's cast and creative team, including Paul W. Downs, Meg Stalter and Poppy Liu. The grooms wore matching black suits for the ceremony, while photographs and videos shared online offered glimpses of the celebrations.

The involvement of Smart gave the wedding a special connection to Hacks, where Indelicato played Damien, the assistant to her character Deborah. Their on-screen working relationship became part of the show's ensemble comedy, making Smart's real-life role in his wedding a memorable moment for fans.

From Ugly Betty to Hacks

Indelicato first became widely known for playing Justin Suarez in Ugly Betty, the comedy-drama starring America Ferrera as an aspiring journalist working in the fashion industry. Justin was Betty's nephew, and the character became a notable part of the show's portrayal of family, identity and ambition.

In Hacks, Indelicato took on the role of Damien, who works for Deborah Vance as she attempts to revive her comedy career. The series follows Deborah's complicated professional relationship with younger writer Ava Daniels, played by Einbinder, and has received acclaim for its writing and performances.

The two programmes have introduced Indelicato to different generations of television viewers. His wedding has now given fans a personal milestone to celebrate alongside his work on two well-known comedy series.
