Fourth Wing TV adaptation reportedly casts Esther McGregor and Emilio Sakraya
Esther McGregor and Emilio Sakraya have been reported as the leads in Prime Video’s adaptation of Rebecca Yarros’s fantasy novel Fourth Wing.
The upcoming television adaptation of Fourth Wing has reportedly found its two leading actors, with Esther McGregor set to play Violet Sorrengail opposite Emilio Sakraya as Xaden Riorson.
The casting was reported by Deadline and covered by Teen Vogue on 16 October. Amazon MGM Studios had not publicly confirmed the details in the report, so the casting should be treated as reported rather than an official announcement from the studio.
The series adapts Rebecca Yarros’s bestselling fantasy novel, the first book in the Empyrean series. The story follows Violet, who expects to pursue a quieter life studying books and history but is pushed by her mother into training at Basgiath War College. There, candidates face deadly challenges as they attempt to become dragon riders.

Xaden is a powerful and formidable figure at the college, with a complicated history connected to Violet’s family. Their relationship becomes a central part of the story as Violet attempts to survive the demands of her training.
McGregor has appeared in projects including We Were Liars and Babygirl. Sakraya, a German actor and singer, has credits including Warrior Nun and Those About to Die.
The adaptation is being developed for Prime Video, with Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society involved as a production partner. Meredith Averill has been attached as showrunner, while Lisa Joy is also an executive producer and is set to direct the first episode.
The series does not yet have a confirmed release date, and further casting details have not been announced.
