DS Thea Ramsden takes her campaign against Kim Tate to a shocking new level in today’s Emmerdale as she arrests the Home Farm matriarch on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The move comes as the investigation into Jimmy King’s fatal crash continues, with Thea already making it clear that Kim is the person she wants at the centre of the case.
Jimmy died following the devastating collision, while Dawn Taylor later lost her life in hospital after giving birth to her baby son.
Questions have remained over what caused Jimmy to take evasive action moments before the crash, but Thea has increasingly focused her attention on Kim rather than allowing the investigation to unfold naturally.
The detective has previously spoken to Serena Sugden about finding enough to place Kim near the scene and bring her in for questioning.
She has also shown that she is prepared to bend the rules if it means getting closer to her target, making today’s arrest a major escalation.
Kim is now facing one of the most serious situations she has encountered in years, with Thea formally accusing her of involvement in a crash that claimed lives.
