Emmerdale’s Lawrence Robb confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2026

Emmerdale favourite Lawrence Robb is swapping the Yorkshire Dales for the ballroom after being confirmed as one of the celebrity contestants taking part in Strictly Come Dancing 2026.

The announcement was made by the BBC on Thursday 6 August, with Lawrence revealed as the latest famous face joining this year’s line-up ahead of the new series launching in September.

Best known to soap fans as Mackenzie “Mack” Boyd, Lawrence has become one of Emmerdale’s biggest stars since joining the ITV soap six years ago. During his time in the village, Mack has found himself at the centre of some of the show’s most memorable storylines, including dramatic family feuds, kidnappings, affairs and the landmark Corriedale crossover.

Before arriving in Emmerdale, the Glasgow-born actor appeared in Sky comedy drama I Hate Suzie alongside Billie Piper and also performed in Legally Blonde The Musical and Mojo in London’s West End.

Speaking after his casting was announced, Lawrence said he “can’t quite believe” he will be pulling on his dancing shoes, describing Strictly as one of his favourite television shows and calling the opportunity “a dream come true”.

Lawrence joins a celebrity cast that also includes Dani Dyer, Delta Goodrem, Chris Appleton, Will Best and Dame Sarah Storey, with more announcements expected before the series begins.
