Emmerdale Vinny Dingle confesses he caused Jimmy and Dawn crash
Emmerdale sees Vinny finally confess to Nicola that he caused the crash which killed Jimmy and Dawn, leaving her facing a devastating truth.
Vinny Dingle finally decides he can no longer live with the secret surrounding the deaths of Jimmy King and Dawn Fletcher. The guilt has been hanging over him, and his plans for a future with Lewis Barton are becoming increasingly difficult to face.
Kev urges Vinny to hold himself together and continue with his plan to marry Lewis. When Vinny insists that he intends to do the right thing, Kev appears reassured and assumes he means repairing the damage between the couple.
Vinny has something very different in mind. He seeks out Nicola King and tearfully admits that he was responsible for the car accident which killed Jimmy and Dawn. For Nicola, the confession finally reveals who caused the crash that took her husband away.
The truth is particularly devastating after everything Nicola has already endured since Jimmy’s death. She has been dealing with grief, financial problems and unanswered questions, only to discover that somebody she knows has been carrying the truth all along.
Vinny may believe confessing is the only honest option left to him, but telling Nicola cannot undo what happened. It also means he is giving up control of a secret that has affected almost every decision he has made since the crash.
His confession is set to have consequences far beyond Nicola. Lewis still has to face what it means for their relationship, while Joe Tate is yet to hear directly from the person responsible for Dawn’s death.
Emmerdale continues on ITV1, with episodes also available to stream on ITVX. Viewers can catch up on recent episodes and watch the latest instalments online through ITVX.
