Emmerdale Spoilers 7–11 September: Charity Shocks Cain as Sarah Faces Devastating Blow

Emmerdale has several major stories developing from 7 to 11 September, with Charity’s situation becoming increasingly desperate as she faces a murder charge. Sarah is also hit by news that changes everything for her, while Robert quietly begins putting his own plans for the village into motion.

Caleb is visibly under pressure as events begin to unfold, although exactly what is troubling him remains unclear.

Lewis, meanwhile, has something to feel excited about, giving him a very different start to the week.

Sarah’s situation is far more serious. Something happens that turns her world upside down, leaving her facing a major personal blow with the full circumstances still to be revealed.

Robert is also keeping plenty to himself as he makes Joe believe the hostility between them has eased.

The apparent truce is not genuine, with Robert secretly working towards taking control of the farm while keeping his real intentions hidden from Joe.

Aaron eventually gets a much clearer picture of what Robert has in mind. Robert admits the farm is only part of his plan, revealing that he also wants to take control of the Hide.

While Robert looks towards expanding his influence in the village, Charity is dealing with a much more immediate problem.

Now behind bars and facing a murder charge, she begins to fear that she may have reached the point where there are very few options left open to her.

Rather than giving up, Charity turns to Mack and asks him to carry out a very specific task.

Mack retrieves a St Christopher necklace and takes it directly to Cain, who immediately understands why Charity has chosen to send it.

The necklace has an important meaning for the pair. Before Leyla was born, Cain gave the St Christopher to Charity and promised that if she ever truly needed his help, she could send it back to him.

Charity has now chosen to do exactly that. With her freedom at stake and a murder charge hanging over her, sending the necklace to Cain seems to make it clear that she wants him to honour the promise he made.

The situation becomes even more significant when Charity later shocks Cain.

Whatever she says or does clearly takes him by surprise, leaving questions over exactly what she needs from him and how far Cain will be prepared to go after receiving the St Christopher.

Nicola also faces a difficult discovery as concerns about her finances lead her to start looking more closely at Jimmy’s haulage shares.

She hopes the shares could provide some financial security for Elliot, but her enquiries instead uncover something Jimmy had kept hidden.

Caleb tells Nicola that Jimmy had already sold the shares for cash without paying tax on the money.

Jimmy had continued running the haulage business afterwards, creating the impression that nothing had changed and keeping the sale hidden.

That revelation is bad enough, but Nicola then discovers there is another problem.

The money Jimmy received for the shares appears to be missing, leaving her struggling to understand what has happened to it and facing further uncertainty over the family’s finances.

By the end of the week, Nicola is still trying to deal with what she has learned, while Robert’s plans continue to develop in the background.

Charity’s decision to call on Cain and Sarah’s devastating situation also leave two of the village’s biggest families facing difficult questions about what comes next.
