Emmerdale Moira Dingle stops Caleb Miligan taking revenge on Joe Tate
Moira Dingle catches Caleb Miligan searching for a weapon after learning what Joe Tate has done to Ruby, forcing her to stop his revenge plan.
Caleb Miligan’s desperation over Ruby threatens to push him towards a devastating decision as his anger at Joe Tate begins to take over. After discovering that Joe buried Ruby alive, Caleb is left consumed by fear for his wife and fury at the man responsible.
Unable to let the situation go, Caleb begins searching for a weapon. His behaviour immediately raises alarm when Moira Dingle catches him rooting around and demands to know what he is doing.
Caleb finally tells Moira the horrifying truth about Ruby. He explains what Joe has done and admits that he is planning vengeance, making it clear that his thoughts have moved beyond simply finding his wife and bringing her home safely.
Moira refuses to let Caleb throw away his future. She knows exactly where acting on that anger could lead and tries to make him see that attacking Joe would only create another disaster for everyone involved.
Caleb is already struggling with the knowledge that Ruby has been trapped underground and left fighting for her life. Joe’s refusal to show remorse only makes his need for revenge stronger, but Moira pushes him to consider what he could lose if he acts while consumed by rage.
Her intervention manages to stop Caleb from immediately carrying out his plan. However, the confrontation makes it clear that the conflict between Caleb and Joe is far from over.
With Ruby’s ordeal still hanging heavily over him, Caleb faces the difficult task of controlling his anger while dealing with everything Joe has done. Moira may have prevented one act of revenge, but the damage between the two men could take much longer to repair.
