Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden Revealed as Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy in New Pride and Prejudice

Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden have been revealed as Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy in the first teaser for Netflix’s new Pride and Prejudice adaptation, giving audiences their first proper look at the much anticipated series.

The six part drama is written by Dolly Alderton and directed by Euros Lyn, whose previous work includes Heartstopper. Netflix says the new version will stay close to Jane Austen’s original novel while introducing the story to a new generation.

Corrin, known for The Crown and Nosferatu, takes on the role of Elizabeth Bennet. Lowden, best known for Slow Horses and Benediction, stars opposite them as Mr Darcy.

The wider cast is packed with familiar names. Olivia Colman plays Mrs Bennet, Rufus Sewell is Mr Bennet, Freya Mavor takes on Jane Bennet, Rhea Norwood plays Lydia Bennet and Daryl McCormack stars as Mr Bingley.

Jamie Demetriou appears as Mr Collins, Louis Partridge plays Mr Wickham and Fiona Shaw takes on Lady Catherine de Bourgh. It gives Netflix one of the strongest British casts attached to a period drama this year.

The teaser puts the focus firmly on Corrin and Lowden, offering an early look at the chemistry between Elizabeth and Darcy. Netflix is presenting the series as both a romance and a comedy, which fits the humour and sharp social observations that have kept Austen’s story popular for more than two centuries.

Alderton has said adapting Pride and Prejudice comes with both excitement and responsibility. Her version is expected to explore love, family and society while keeping the wit and tension that made the original story so enduring.

Corrin is also serving as an executive producer alongside Alderton, Lyn and the team at Lookout Point. Netflix has confirmed that all six episodes will premiere in 2026, although an exact release date has not yet been announced.

Any new version of Pride and Prejudice comes with huge expectations, particularly after the hugely popular 1995 television adaptation and the 2005 film. This version already has the advantage of a major cast and a creative team capable of giving the story a fresh feel without losing what people love about it.

With Corrin and Lowden now revealed in character and Olivia Colman heading up the supporting cast, this is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s biggest British period dramas of 2026.
