EastEnders’ Ross and Vicki realise Joel attack mystery is bigger than they feared

Ross and Vicki’s search for answers over Joel’s brutal attack takes a dramatic turn in upcoming EastEnders scenes as they realise they have only uncovered part of the truth.

Joel remains in hospital after being assaulted, with police continuing their investigation as suspicion hangs over several of Walford’s teenagers. While Ross is determined to identify whoever attacked his son, it soon becomes clear the case is far more complicated than he first believed.

After speaking to Barney and learning that Nugget had been acting suspiciously on the night of the attack, Ross initially believes he may finally be getting somewhere. However, the latest developments suggest the teenagers are hiding far more than a single secret.

As the pressure builds, Barney admits he can no longer cope with the guilt surrounding recent events and makes a confession to Zack after struggling to carry the burden alone. His admission leaves Ross believing he is finally close to discovering what really happened.

Instead, Ross and Vicki receive another surprise.

After confronting Kat and Alfie in a bid to uncover more information, the pair discover the adults know far less than they had hoped. Rather than providing the missing answers, the conversation only confirms that nobody appears to have the complete picture.

The revelation leaves Ross increasingly frustrated, especially after discovering there are still significant gaps in what the teenagers have told their parents.

The situation quickly escalates as Kat and Alfie call together an emergency meeting with the other parents. With their own children now potential suspects in the investigation, tensions rise between the adults as accusations begin to surface.

Jack also finds himself caught in an awkward position after becoming concerned about Amy and Ricky. Hoping to protect his own family while supporting Ross, he reportedly asks fellow officer Craig for help, placing Craig in an uncomfortable professional position.

Craig later provides Ross with an update about the police investigation, although questions remain over whether the detective is revealing the full picture. There are suggestions Jack may even have persuaded Craig to divert attention away from Amy, although nothing has been confirmed.

Elsewhere, Barney’s guilt continues to grow as he eventually gives police a statement. While he stops short of admitting responsibility himself, his account could prove crucial in helping detectives piece together the events leading up to Joel’s attack.

With so many conflicting stories emerging, Ross and Vicki are left wondering whether any of the teenagers have been completely honest.

The latest developments also suggest the assault may involve far more people than first thought, with several members of the friendship group continuing to hide what really happened that night.

As the investigation gathers pace, one question remains unanswered. Was Joel attacked by a single person acting alone, or are multiple teenagers covering for each other as panic continues to spread through Walford?

The truth is edging closer, but Ross and Vicki may have to face the possibility that the answers they have been searching for are far more painful than either of them imagined.
