EastEnders new Hawkins family arrive in Albert Square
EastEnders welcomes the Hawkins family to Albert Square as Nicola faces her estranged relatives and old tensions return to Walford in upcoming scenes.
EastEnders is bringing a new family into the heart of Walford as Nicola’s relatives arrive in Albert Square and become a much bigger part of her life.
Viewers have already had a brief introduction to Nicola’s mum Rose and sisters Gemma and Jodie, but upcoming scenes next week will see the Hawkins family descend on the Square in greater numbers.

Gemma’s husband Ned and their son Ryder will also join them, along with the family dog.
Their arrival means Nicola will suddenly have several members of her estranged family living much closer to home.

Relations between them have been strained for years, with particularly difficult history between Nicola and Rose still hanging over the family.
Nicola recently opened up to George about the circumstances surrounding her abusive father’s death and the lasting impact it had on her relationship with her mum.

With Rose now back in her life and the wider family gathering in Walford, those unresolved issues are set to become much harder for Nicola to avoid.
The Hawkins family will soon start getting involved in life around Albert Square, giving viewers the chance to see more of Gemma, Jodie, Ned and Ryder as they establish themselves in Walford.

Their introduction also expands Nicola’s story beyond her existing relationships and begins to reveal more about the family she came from.
Despite the difficult history between them, there could be hope of repairing some of those relationships.
Nicola eventually reconsiders how she wants to handle the situation and makes an effort to reach out, suggesting she may be willing to try to rebuild some of the connections that have been lost.

With five relatives and a dog arriving around Nicola, the Hawkins family immediately adds a sizeable new group to Albert Square.
Their presence should also give EastEnders plenty of opportunities to explore Nicola’s past while developing the newcomers as characters in their own right.

For Nicola, having her family suddenly so close could prove challenging, but it also marks the beginning of a significant new chapter.
The Hawkins are heading into Albert Square, and Walford is about to get to know a whole new side of Nicola’s family.
