EastEnders Linda torn over Max ahead of Cindy wedding

Linda faces a major emotional decision in EastEnders as her attempt to move forward with Clive is complicated by another reminder of just how much Max still means to her. With Max’s wedding to Cindy approaching, Linda is forced to confront feelings she has been trying to leave behind.

Clive has made a strong impression on Linda after coming to the rescue when a power cut threatened the bingo event at the community centre. His intervention helped save the occasion, and Linda was impressed enough to agree to another date with him.

The pair have been taking things slowly, but Linda finally appears ready to see where their relationship could lead. Clive offers the possibility of a fresh start away from the complications that have surrounded her connection with Max.

However, Linda’s plans are disrupted when Kim tells her something she did not know. Max played an important role in efforts to save the community centre, meaning his influence has once again reached into something that matters deeply to Linda.

Clive then confirms that the centre has been secured for the foreseeable future. The good news should give Linda plenty to celebrate, but discovering Max’s involvement leaves her with much more to think about.

It follows another significant moment between Linda and Max after Ollie struggled with nerves over starting secondary school. Max stepped in and helped Linda get through to her son, creating a poignant moment between the co-parents.

Those actions make it increasingly difficult for Linda to convince herself that everything involving Max belongs firmly in the past. Just as she prepares for another date with Clive, she is forced to consider whether her heart is really moving in the same direction as her head.

The situation is complicated further by Max’s impending marriage to Cindy. Linda cannot simply explore her feelings without consequences when Max is preparing to make a huge commitment to somebody else.

Clive has given Linda every reason to consider a future with him, but Max continues to appear at important moments in her life. His support for Ollie and his role in protecting the community centre give Linda fresh reasons to question what she truly wants.

With two weddings approaching in Walford, Linda now has a decision of her own to make. Whether she chooses to follow her head with Clive or finally confront what remains between her and Max could have major consequences for everyone involved.
