Chelsea believes she is doing the right thing by giving Sheila a chance, but that decision could soon come back to haunt her in heartbreaking fashion.

In upcoming scenes, Chelsea places her trust in Sheila as she spends time caring for young Jordan while Chelsea visits Denise. From Chelsea's perspective, Sheila is simply a loving great grandmother who wants to build a relationship with her family. Sadly, the reality could not be more different.

Unknown to Chelsea, Sheila has secretly been communicating with Gray and is helping him put a disturbing plan into motion. While Gray remains behind bars, Sheila has become his link to the outside world, allowing him to move one step closer to seeing his son without Chelsea having the slightest idea.

The storyline promises an emotional blow for Chelsea, particularly after all she has already endured because of Gray's abuse. Just when she believes she has left that chapter of her life behind, his influence once again threatens to reach into her family.

Viewers will see Sheila take Jordan out before encouraging him to keep their trip a secret. While Jordan is too young to understand the significance of what is happening, the moment immediately raises alarm bells as Sheila continues following Gray's instructions behind Chelsea's back.

Chelsea has absolutely no reason to suspect the woman she trusts is deceiving her. She believes Jordan is safe, allowing herself to focus on supporting Denise during her own difficult time. That makes Sheila's actions even more shocking, as she takes advantage of Chelsea's kindness while secretly serving Gray's interests.

Actor Zaraah Abrahams has already hinted at the emotional impact the storyline will have on Chelsea. Speaking about the episodes, she explained that Chelsea is completely blindsided because she genuinely believes Sheila has changed and only wants to be part of Jordan's life.

When the truth finally comes to light, Chelsea is left devastated by what has happened. Zaraah revealed that her character feels shocked, hurt and angry with herself for failing to realise what was happening around her, despite believing she had become much stronger after everything Gray previously put her through.

Those feelings of guilt could become one of the most heartbreaking aspects of the storyline. Chelsea escaped an abusive relationship with Gray and has worked hard to rebuild her confidence, but Sheila's betrayal risks reopening old wounds that she believed had finally healed.

The storyline also highlights how manipulation rarely ends with one person. Even from prison, Gray appears determined to control the lives of those closest to him, using someone else to carry out his wishes while keeping his own hands clean. Rather than targeting Chelsea directly, he has found another way to exploit her trust and place Jordan at the centre of his latest scheme.

Whether Gray ultimately succeeds in reaching his son remains to be seen, but Chelsea's confidence in Sheila already appears to have been shattered. Rebuilding that trust may prove impossible once she discovers just how long the deception has been taking place and how close Gray came to getting exactly what he wanted.

For Chelsea, the betrayal is likely to be about far more than one lie. It is another painful reminder that Gray's shadow continues to linger over her life, even with prison walls separating him from Albert Square.
