EastEnders Alfie Moon transforms Albert Square for Kat surprise
EastEnders sees Alfie plan a huge Benidorm-themed surprise for Kat after discovering that footage in a school project has left her upset.
Alfie sets out to lift Kat’s spirits after realising that something featured in Bert and Ernie’s school project has left her upset. Rather than confronting the issue head-on, he decides to show his support in a much bigger way.
His solution is to bring a taste of Benidorm directly to Albert Square. Alfie throws himself into transforming the Square for a themed celebration designed especially with Kat in mind.
The surprise quickly draws attention from other Walford residents as the celebrations begin. For Kat, the gesture initially hits exactly the right note and she is touched by the effort Alfie has made.
It is a typically ambitious move from Alfie, who chooses action over a difficult conversation when he sees Kat struggling. His decision also brings some much-needed colour and energy to the Square as other residents become involved.
Behind the celebration, however, is Alfie’s concern for Kat and his determination to make her feel better. What begins with him noticing that she has been affected by the school project becomes a much larger attempt to remind her that she is surrounded by people who care.
The Benidorm transformation gives Kat and Alfie another important moment together while also bringing the wider community into their story. Alfie may not be able to erase what upset Kat, but he is determined to make sure she does not face it alone.
