Delta Goodrem joins Kelly Rowland for The Voice UK Battles

Delta Goodrem joins Kelly Rowland on The Voice UK this Saturday as the Battles continue, bringing her experience from The Voice Australia to help Team Kelly decide which singers deserve a place in the Semi Final.

The Australian singer makes a special appearance at Alexandra Palace in London, where Kelly faces the difficult task of reducing her team of eight contestants to just three.

With the competition intensifying, Delta is on hand to offer her expertise as the singers take to the stage in pairs.

Introducing her special guest, Kelly tells her team:

“So because this is such a huge challenge, I have brought someone who is music industry savvy, a brilliant musician and a very dear friend of mine. And I know she too has been in this position on The Voice. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you… Miss Delta Goodrem!”

Delta arrives in a burgundy outfit and receives a warm welcome from the contestants before explaining why she is excited to be joining the team.

“I am so honoured and so excited to be a part of Team Kelly today - let’s go!” she says.
“Not only have we worked together on The Voice Australia, but we share together very high standards. We are expecting the best.”

Delta also explains that she wants the singers to demonstrate their individuality and commitment to their performances.

“We know how much effort and love we put into our craft as artists, so we expect that from the team, and I’m excited to see them really turn up and say ‘this is who I am’ today.”

The Battles will put both the contestants and their coaches under pressure, with Kelly reminding her team that a strong performance does not automatically guarantee a place in the next round.

Depending on how the pairings perform, one singer could progress, both could go through, or neither could make it.

Before the first Battle begins, Delta admits to Kelly that the decisions ahead will not be easy.

“I can’t wait to see your team, but I can’t believe you go from eight to three… That’s going to be tough,” she says.

Delta’s appearance also brings some lighter moments to the competition. During one performance, she and Kelly get to their feet and dance together, twirling under each other’s arms and holding hands as they move along to the music.

Another performance leaves Delta so impressed that she gives the singers a standing ovation.

“Oh my god, what just happened just then? Are you two kidding me? The Voice UK is where it’s at!” she exclaims.

With only three places available in the Semi Final for Team Kelly, the upcoming Battles promise difficult choices as the remaining singers fight to prove they have what it takes to go further in the competition.

The Voice UK continues Saturday at 8.35pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
