Death Note is returning to the London stage, giving fans another opportunity to see the hugely popular Japanese story transformed into a musical.

Death Note: The Musical will return in 2027 with a new season at London’s Barbican Theatre following its previous UK success.

Based on the manga created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, Death Note follows student Light Yagami after he discovers a supernatural notebook with a terrifying power.

Anyone whose name is written inside the Death Note will die. Light begins using it to eliminate criminals, placing him on a collision course with mysterious detective L and triggering the battle of intelligence that made the original story an international phenomenon.

The franchise has expanded into anime, live-action films, television adaptations and games, while the musical brings the story to the stage with music by Frank Wildhorn.
