Danny Ramirez opens up about his chemistry with Pedro Pascal in gay romance De Noche

Danny Ramirez has shared his enthusiasm for working with Pedro Pascal on De Noche, the upcoming gay romance directed by Todd Haynes. Speaking at the Academy Museum Gala, Ramirez praised the connection between the two actors as anticipation continues to build around the film.

The project sees Pascal and Ramirez playing lovers in a historical romantic drama exploring desire, danger and the consequences of a relationship unfolding in a deeply hostile environment.

What did Danny Ramirez say about Pedro Pascal?

Speaking to Variety at the Academy Museum Gala, Ramirez described Pascal as an exceptionally easy acting partner to build chemistry with.

His comments offer a glimpse into their working relationship, particularly as the film places the two actors' romantic connection at the centre of its story.

The production represents a significant collaboration for both performers, bringing together two familiar screen stars under the direction of a filmmaker known for exploring complicated relationships.

What is De Noche about?

Set in 1930s Los Angeles, De Noche follows a detective, played by Pascal, who falls in love with a younger boarding school teacher, played by Ramirez.

Their relationship develops against a backdrop of political corruption and social hostility. As danger closes in, the two men are forced to flee to Mexico.

Haynes, whose previous films include Carol and May December, developed the screenplay with Jon Raymond.

When will De Noche be released?

Pedro Pascal joined the production after Joaquin Phoenix withdrew from the project, allowing the film to move forward following an earlier setback.

Filming reportedly concluded in April 2026, but a confirmed theatrical release date has not yet been announced.

For audiences looking forward to another major LGBTQ+ romance, Ramirez's latest comments provide an encouraging update while the wait for an official trailer continues.
