Christmas Carol Goes Wrong returns to London after sold-out West End run
Christmas Carol Goes Wrong returns to London's West End at Wyndham's Theatre from December 18, following its sold-out festive season.
The team behind The Play That Goes Wrong is bringing Christmas Carol Goes Wrong back to London this festive season. Following its sold-out run at the Apollo Theatre last Christmas, the comedy will return at Wyndham’s Theatre from December 18, 2026, to January 23, 2027.
The production gives Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol the Mischief treatment, with the fictional Cornley Amateur Drama Society attempting to stage the festive classic. Their efforts quickly unravel as missing performers, problems with the set and arguments over the leading role threaten to derail the show.
Scrooge’s encounters with Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come provide the familiar story, while Cornley’s theatrical mishaps supply the comedy. The result offers a festive alternative to traditional pantomime, with the performers struggling to keep their production on course.
Mischief is also behind The Play That Goes Wrong and Peter Pan Goes Wrong. Television audiences may recognise the company’s style from its BBC specials and The Goes Wrong Show, which similarly follow amateur performers whose ambitious productions fall apart.
A new cast has been announced for the London season and UK tour. The tour begins at Bromley’s Churchill Theatre on October 27, 2026, with dates around the country scheduled both before and after the West End engagement.
