Bimini handcuffed to football legend in wild Channel 4 show
Drag star Bimini is being handcuffed to football legend Neil Ruddock 24/7 for Channel 4’s outrageous new celebrity reality experiment.
Bimini is about to spend considerably more time with former footballer Neil Ruddock than either of them might normally choose, with the unlikely pair joining Channel 4's new Celebrity Handcuffed.
The drag star and former Liverpool defender will be physically handcuffed together around the clock as part of a celebrity version of Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing, the reality experiment which deliberately pairs people with very different opinions, lifestyles and personalities.
Bimini and Ruddock aren't the only unlikely pair
Channel 4 has assembled five celebrity pairings, and some look designed to create spectacularly awkward television.
Katie Price will be chained to former Home Secretary Suella Braverman, while DJ Fat Tony gets Princess Olga Romanov. Kerry Katona is paired with Made in Chelsea star Mark-Francis Vandelli, with Lady Victoria Hervey joining Georgia Harrison.
Bimini and Ruddock may prove equally unpredictable. The pair come from very different worlds, with Bimini becoming one of Britain's best-known drag performers after RuPaul's Drag Race UK, while Ruddock built his reputation during a long football career before moving into television.
The celebrities cannot simply escape each other when things become uncomfortable. The format keeps its pairs handcuffed together 24/7 while putting their ability to tolerate each other under increasing pressure.
The original civilian series became a major streaming success for Channel 4, with its first episode passing two million streaming views. Channel 4 says the celebrity version will explore whether people who appear to disagree on almost everything can eventually discover common ground.
Or, presumably, drive each other completely mad first.
Celebrity Handcuffed will air on Channel 4 in 2027, with an exact start date still to be announced.
