Barbershop teaser brings a new generation to Calvin’s
Barbershop’s first teaser introduces Jermaine Fowler at Calvin’s, with all eight episodes arriving on Prime Video on 10 February 2027.
Calvin’s is welcoming a new generation, and finding a place behind the chair could be harder than it looks. The first teaser for Barbershop introduces Jermaine Fowler’s return to the familiar Chicago shop in a new comedy series inspired by the film franchise.
Released on 3 October, the teaser offers a fresh taste of the eight-part series ahead of its global Prime Video premiere on 10 February 2027.
It follows the first-look images and release-date announcement shared on 30 September.
Watch the official trailer:
Fowler plays Travis “Trav” Walker, who returns to Chicago hoping to honour his grandfather’s legacy at Calvin’s. But the place he remembers has moved on, and the city around it has changed too.
Trav must find his feet among a new team of barbers and the loyal customers who help give the shop its personality. His family connection brings him back through the door, but where will he fit into its next chapter?
The premise keeps the community at the centre of Barbershop, with conversations and competing opinions as much a part of the business as haircuts. For Trav, returning home means getting to know the people who now make Calvin’s what it is.
Fowler leads an ensemble that includes Brett Gray, Punkie Johnson, Roy Wood Jr., E.J. Bonilla, Bresha Webb, Bokeem Woodbine, Tiana Okoye and Langston Kerman. Guest appearances include Tituss Burgess, Ego Nwodim, Ziwe and Zack Fox.
There is also a connection to the original film behind the scenes. Marshall Todd, who co-wrote it, serves as writer and co-showrunner alongside Max Searle, with Kevin Hart and Fowler among the executive producers.
All eight episodes of Barbershop will be available together on Prime Video from 10 February 2027, including in the UK.
