AI filmmakers head to Hollywood as Silicon Valley Film Festival reveals November showcase

Hollywood is preparing to welcome a new generation of filmmakers as the Silicon Valley AI Film Festival heads to Beverly Hills on Sunday 1 November 2026, bringing AI-assisted films, creative talent and industry discussions to one of cinema's most famous locations.

The festival has joined forces with the Arklink AI Film Festival for a special international showcase at the Saban Theatre, offering independent creators an opportunity to present their work to audiences and film industry professionals.

Rather than concentrating solely on the technology used to make the films, the event will explore how artificial intelligence is being used to develop stories, create visual effects and open up filmmaking to people who may not have access to traditional production budgets.

What is happening at the AI Film Festival?

The event takes place at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, with doors opening at 3pm local time on Sunday 1 November.

A red carpet reception begins at 3.30pm, followed by screenings of selected AI films at 4pm. An industry forum gets underway at 5pm before the awards ceremony begins at 6pm, with the main programme concluding at 7pm.

The forum will explore AI filmmaking, directing, creative ethics and collaboration between the film and technology industries.

For filmmakers, the event also provides an opportunity to meet potential collaborators, connect with professionals and introduce their work to audiences beyond online platforms.

Could AI give independent filmmakers a bigger opportunity?

One of the biggest questions surrounding artificial intelligence in entertainment is whether the technology will make filmmaking more accessible or create additional pressure on an industry already facing concerns about employment and creative ownership.

AI-assisted production tools can help creators experiment with animation, visual effects and scenes that might otherwise require substantial budgets. However, the growing use of these tools has also prompted questions about copyright, consent and the role of human artists.

The Hollywood showcase provides an opportunity to examine how filmmakers are actually using the technology, rather than concentrating on what AI companies claim their software can achieve.

The collaboration between the Silicon Valley AI Film Festival and Arklink also aims to connect international filmmakers through joint selections, screenings and professional networks.

AI filmmaking is reaching audiences around the world

The Los Angeles event forms part of a wider international programme, with Silicon Valley AI Film Festival activities connected to cities including New York, Boston, Seoul, Beijing and Shanghai.

The festival also has a separate partnership with RexTrix for an Audience Choice competition, which allows creators to submit AI-assisted films for public recognition.

Those awards are scheduled to be presented at the main Silicon Valley ceremony in January 2027, rather than during the Beverly Hills event.

The distinction reflects how AI filmmaking is developing beyond individual online experiments into organised competitions, public screenings and international industry events.

How to attend the Silicon Valley AI Film Festival

The Silicon Valley AI Film Festival takes place on Sunday 1 November 2026 at the Saban Theatre, 8440 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills, California.

Visitors can find further programme information through the official Los Angeles festival website and check tickets and registration through Eventbrite.

For creators following developments in AI entertainment, the event offers another opportunity to see how emerging filmmaking tools are being used in finished productions, while raising wider questions about the future of independent cinema.
