Adults Season 2 continues Paul and Anton story on Disney+

Adults is back for Season 2, with the FX comedy returning to Disney+ in the UK and picking up one of the biggest developments from its first season. Paul Baker and Anton’s relationship is no longer quite as straightforward as friendship.

Jack Innanen returns as Paul alongside Owen Thiele as Anton, with Malik Elassal as Samir, Lucy Freyer as Billie and Amita Rao as Issa. The five friends are once again living together in Samir’s childhood home in New York as they attempt to navigate relationships, work and the chaos of their twenties.

Season one ended after Paul and Anton shared a kiss, creating a new complication between them after everything that had already happened. Paul had previously married Anton to help him remain in the country while still being in a relationship with Issa, leaving all three characters in an increasingly messy situation.

Season 2 does not simply brush that kiss aside and move on. Anton’s feelings for Paul continue to affect his romantic life, while Paul and Issa are also forced to deal with changes in their own relationship as the three try to work out what they actually want.

It gives Adults another prominent LGBTQ+ storyline while keeping Anton firmly at the heart of the wider friendship group. His relationship with Paul develops alongside the rest of the chaos in the house rather than feeling separated from everything else happening between the characters.

There are some notable guest appearances across the new episodes too. Raven-Symoné appears as Anton’s older sister, while Gaten Matarazzo plays the person who inherited Samir’s old fake ID, with Susie Essman, Jake Shane, Isaac Powell, Ben Marshall and Zosia Mamet also appearing during the season.

Created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, Adults continues its mix of comedy, friendship, sexuality and relationships without making any of its characters particularly good at handling them. That messy approach remains a big part of the show as Paul and Anton discover that one kiss can make an already complicated friendship considerably harder to ignore.

All eight main episodes of Adults Season 2 are available now, so viewers can follow the Paul, Anton and Issa story without waiting for weekly episodes. Adults Season 2 is streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
